I’m particularly partial to the Arts Management degree myself. Though I’m not working toward one myself, I have taken some of the courses at my own university (Buena Vista University), and I’m hoping to end up in Arts Management later on in my career. Theaters are businesses too and need accountants, managers, HR, marketing, and all sorts of business professionals just as much as other businesses do! This list is a great reminder for thespians who want to have a career in theatre but don’t want to act!!

There are FAR more than a dozen schools offering programs in sound design. CalArts, Cal State Fullerton, UCIrvine, UCLA, UC-CCM, Penn State, Yale, Cornish, UMKC, Purdue University, University of Virginia, USC, DePaul, Webster, Carnegie Mellon, University of Arizona, and many many more. These are the ones that are just off the top of my head.

I keep on eyeing UConn for their School of Puppetry program. They offer a BA, MA and MFA.
