Also it is more impressive as an acting piece and there’s no way you’d be allowed to do the entire song.
I am in love with Light in the Piazza, but the accompaniment is far too complex to make it an ideal audition piece (same with anything by Jason Robert Brown – just don’t do it!)
I would add Yes, My Heart from Carnival to this list. Thanks!

A soprano could sing this song, but it’s not a soprano song.
